Take the Moment Campaign

This year, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month with its Take the Moment campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and encourage conversations around mental health.

Engaging in Respectful Conversations

As part of the campaign, NAMI offers tips for engaging in respectful conversations about mental health. These tips include:

  • Avoid using labels or stereotypes.
  • Focus on the person's strengths and abilities.

SAMHSA's Efforts

For over two decades, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has supported Mental Health Awareness Month. SAMHSA provides resources and tools to help individuals and communities address mental health challenges.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10th. This international event is organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness about mental health and promote its importance.
