Feast of the Sacrifice to mark the culmination of Hajj pilgrimage
Muslims worldwide will celebrate Eid al Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice, on June 28th, 2023.
The day marks the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and is one of the most important holidays in the Islamic calendar.
On Eid al Adha, Muslims demonstrate their obedience to Allah by sacrificing an animal, typically a sheep, cow, or goat. The meat is then distributed to family, friends, and the poor.
In the Philippines, Eid al Adha is a regular holiday. This year, the holiday will begin at sundown on Wednesday, June 28th, and end at sundown on Thursday, June 29th.
