Celtics secure first title since 2008

The Boston Celtics have defeated the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, clinching the series 4-1 and capturing their 18th championship title.

The Celtics dominated the game from the start, taking a 12-point lead in the first quarter. They extended their advantage to 19 points by halftime and never looked back.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points. Luka Dončić, the Mavericks' leading scorer, was held to just 20 points on 6-of-18 shooting.

The championship is the Celtics' first since 2008 and their 18th overall, tying them with the Los Angeles Lakers for the most in NBA history.
