Tennis Returns to the Olympics in Paris 2024

After a Century-Long Absence

Dispute Resolution and Renewed Interest

After being dropped from the Olympic Games program in 1924 due to disputes, tennis makes its triumphant return at the Paris 2024 Games. The world's top tennis athletes will compete for gold from July 26 to August 11, 2024.

Tennis has a rich history with the Olympics, dating back to its inception in 1896. However, it was removed from the program after the 1924 Games due to disagreements between the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) over amateurism rules.

In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in including tennis in the Olympics. The IOC and ITF have resolved their differences, and the sport is now fully integrated into the Olympic program. Tennis at the 2024 Olympics will feature five events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.
