Early Life and Career

Sir Andrew Barron Murray OBE was born on May 15, 1987, in Dunblane, Scotland. He began playing tennis at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks, winning the US Open junior title in 2004.

Grand Slam Success

Murray became a professional tennis player in 2005 and quickly established himself as a top player. He won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2012, and went on to win Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016.

Injury and Comeback

In 2017, Murray underwent hip surgery and missed much of the season. He made a comeback in 2018 but struggled with injuries. However, he persevered and won the Antwerp Open in 2019, his first title since his hip surgery.

Farewell to Wimbledon

In July 2024, Murray announced his retirement from professional tennis. He played his final match at Wimbledon, where he received an emotional farewell from the crowd. He remains one of the most successful British tennis players in history.
